How To Give Thanks For This Moment

Every morning my husband and I go out for our daily walk/run (he walks, I run).  Although we take the same route each morning,  we see something different in nature each day for which we give thanks and tribute .

He’ll pause to take a picture of the swans and their new baby signets or a beautiful sunrise over the mighty Mumford River.  This morning, he was awed by the sight of a falcon sitting on the power lines.  That called for another great photo.  For me, the flowers and trees seem to put on a different show each morning.

Actually, I did not get too involved in the process.  My husband is the brave soul who painstakingly prepares our taxes.  Thank goodness, he does as much as he can without my input.

Think You Need A Break?

Sometimes when certain things happen in my life, I catch myself thinking, “Why me – why can’t I get a break? During those times, it would be so easy for me to feel that life has dealt a rough blow, and that I am at the mercy of some cold and unwieldy fate.

I could go on and on about how unlucky I am.  Yet I know that’s not the situation at all.

It’s A Miracle!

Last Sunday morning, I was talking with a fellow parishioner who informed me that she was the proud grandmother of a new baby girl.  I responded, “Congratulations, little toes and little fingers.”  She gave me a puzzled look but accepted the congratulations anyway.

Wouldn’t life be wonderful if we felt like a million bucks 24 hours a day, 7 days a week?  We’d be full of self confidence.
