If you’re like me, every day has its ups and downs.  Sometimes I get more downs than ups. But I make it a point not to sit around waiting for things to change.  No, I accept the challenge head on.  I decide right then and there to make a proactive and focused attempt to add a little happiness to my day.

How To Open Your Mind To New Ideas

This morning, I watched as my husband looked over some items on one of the shelves in my office.  He noticed a particular item and commented on it.  Then I said to him, “Do you see Don Quixote there with one of his arms missing?  But, that doesn’t matter to him. Don Quixote does not need two arms.  He can fight windmills with one single arm.”  We chuckled at that possibility.  My husband responded, “He probably doesn’t even need a windmill with his sort of imagination.”

Happiness Is Just Inside

Wouldn’t it be great if we could go to the store and buy a bottle of “100 Percent Genuine Happiness” and pour into our lives? That’s not going to happen.  Neither is life the greatest ice cream cone we’ve ever had.

Impossible…What’s That?

Part 2 of 2

Impossible…What’s That?

Part 1 of 2

As a young girl, I used to dream of being a big celebrity – lights, camera, action, applause…the whole nine yards.  I think just about everyone, at some point in their life, has dreamed of being, doing or having something special or really big.

The Unstoppable Wave of Change

Part 2 of 2

Think about your own limiting beliefs for a moment and then ask yourself for what purposes do those limiting beliefs serve you. Once you uncover evidence they are not serving you in an empowering way – a way that offers more choices for you, consider looking for new ways of doing things and new ways of thinking about things.

The Unstoppable Wave of Change

Part 1 of 2

How many times have you felt on top of it all, everything was under control, and then suddenly WHAM! You’re knocked out of balance? How often have you used a technology skill to perform a certain task over and over again until you can do it in your sleep when suddenly that same skill became completely and totally obsolete for that same task? Or, have you driven down your street and asked yourself “Where did that building come from, it was not there yesterday?

How about you, have you checked your self-talk lately?  What do you say when you talk to yourself?  When you make a mistake, do you criticize yourself harshly?  Do you put yourself down or sometimes call yourself derogatory names?

When you talk to yourself in a negative way, you damage your self-esteem and lower your self-confidence.  One of the dangers of continuing to talk to yourself in a negative manner is that eventually you begin to believe it.

Choose To Think Positively

“Two men look out through the same bars: One sees the mud, and one sees the stars.”- Frederick Langbridge

When you are feeling “down,” do you tend to think there is no hope?  If you’re like me and many others, thinking positively may be a challenge for you during those times. It’s almost impossible to see a light when so many negative things cloud your vision. Yet if you could learn to think positively, you’ll find yourself moving through those situations more successfully as well as through life in general.
